Credits and tests

Credits are what you spend to run tests in Squoosh. A test is one experiment run — an A/B test or a Conversion Report. Every workspace has one shared credit balance, and each test draws from it. Site Crawler uses this balance too, with separate capture charges.

How credits map to tests

A credit is the unit you spend to run a test. Your workspace holds a single shared balance; everyone in the workspace draws from the same pool.

A test is one experiment run. An A/B test costs 30 credits at Standard rigor, and more at each higher level; a Conversion Report costs 10 credits for its Standard 10-shopper panel, or 30 credits for a Deep 30-shopper panel. All of them draw from that shared balance and count toward your monthly limit.

"N tests left" in the sidebar

The account row at the bottom of the sidebar shows N tests left — how many more default-size A/B tests you can start. It reads 5 tests left, or 1 test left at one.

Two limits feed that number, and it shows whichever is lower: how many default Standard-rigor A/B tests your credit balance covers (your balance ÷ 30), and how much of your monthly test limit is still unused. So it rises when you add credits and falls as you run tests, but on a plan with a monthly test limit, a workspace that has used it up still shows 0 tests left however many credits you top up — see Monthly and property limits. Plans without a monthly limit (Enterprise) follow the credit balance alone. A higher rigor level costs more than this estimate allows. Check the wizard's exact price before launch. If no number shows, the balance hasn't loaded yet.

What a test costs

The run wizard shows each test's exact cost before you launch, so you see the price and your remaining balance first.

For an A/B test, choose a Rigor level. Higher rigor runs more shoppers, each on both versions, so it costs more and takes longer; the wizard shows the exact cost. A Conversion Report has two panel sizes, and you pay one credit per shopper in the panel you pick:

Test Cost Method
A/B test — Standard rigor (default) 30 credits Estimated lift (AI review)
A/B test — Medium rigor Shown in the wizard Estimated lift (AI review)
A/B test — High, Extra High, Max or Ultra rigor Shown in the wizard; rises steeply, and Ultra uses an extremely large number of credits Measured lift (verified conversions; Two URLs and Site Crawler only)
Conversion Report — Standard (10 shoppers) 10 credits Leak report, no lift
Conversion Report — Deep (30 shoppers) 30 credits Leak report, no lift

The method follows the rigor level; there is no separate charge for it. From High rigor up Squoosh measures verified conversions instead of estimating the lift, and the wizard shows the method before you launch. See How Squoosh decides a winner.

Under the cost, the wizard shows how many credits you'll have left after the run. A/B sessions start as capacity becomes available; higher rigor takes longer. Conversion Report times are estimates, not guarantees.

If a test costs more than your balance, the wizard blocks the launch and names the shortfall:

Insufficient credits — this experiment costs 30 credits, but your balance is lower. Top up your account to launch.

To clear the block, top up your account (see below).

Site Crawler charges

A crawl reserves two credits per allowed page, with a default reservation of 200 credits. It charges one credit per successfully saved page/device baseline with completed descriptions, including additional interaction states. Unused credits return after completion, failure or cancellation. Crawls share the credit balance but do not use a monthly test slot. See Site Crawler credits and refunds.

Monthly and property limits

Credits aren't the only limit. Your plan also caps how many tests you can run per month and how many properties you can have. Both apply even when you have enough credits.

Limit Default What happens when you hit it
Tests per month 5 Launch is blocked: "Monthly test limit reached. Upgrade your plan for more tests."
Properties 1 Adding a property is blocked: "Property limit reached. Upgrade your plan for more properties."

The monthly count covers the tests you start in the current calendar month — A/B tests and Conversion Reports alike — and resets on the first of each month. One exception: a run that fails without ever putting shoppers on your page gives its slot back and doesn't count against the limit. A run that fails after its shoppers have run still counts, and so does a run you stop yourself — in both cases the shopper sessions you paid for already happened. To raise either cap, change your plan (see below).

Note

If your account is suspended, Squoosh blocks running tests and adding properties with "Your account is suspended. Contact support." Email support@squoosh.ai to resolve it.

Adding credits or changing your plan

Self-serve billing isn't available yet, so credit top-ups and plan changes go through the Squoosh team.

  1. In the sidebar, click Settings.
  2. Under Workspace, open Billing & usage. This shows your current plan, Tests left this month, and Credits remaining.
  3. Click Contact sales to email support@squoosh.ai.

Tell the team whether you want more credits, a higher monthly test limit, or more properties, and they'll set it up.
